Artists I Adore (And You Should Know About) Series, #3: David C. White
This is my all-time favorite sketch ever. I saw it performed at a UCB-NY Maude night a couple years back and this video version directed by Noah Plener is awesome!
I’ve had the pleasure of seeing a lot of work written (and sometimes performed) by David C. White and it’s unbelievable! Each sketch is both hilarious with absurdity and yet believable with some aspect of a greater truth. Imagine Batman on a blind date, a marriage proposal gone horribly wrong, or Academy Award Winner speeches exposing more than they should when used as tools for revenge.
This guy is wicked talented as a comedic writer, performer and filmmaker. Keep an eye out for him!
